Art Beat Education Workshops
Being part of a successful creative experience that challenges limiting
assumptions about learning abilities and enables individuals to recognise
and express their creative talent
Art Beat offers an exciting range of cultural workshops in Music,
Dance and Art to groups of all ages and abilities. We aim to make
music and the arts accessible to all and develop a greater cultural
awareness through practical fun workshops. Learn about the music
and dance of Brazilian Samba, Cuban Salsa or create stunning banners
using the ancient Indonesian art form of Batik. Learn about musical
developments in western music such as Minimalism or traditional
Indonesian culture by playing Javanese Gamelan instruments, develop
ensemble playing skills and create your own compositions of sound
explorations based on a wide range of influences.
Art Beat can develop tailor made projects specific to your groups
needs including cross-curricular projects
eg learning about science and geography through music or developing
key communication skills, confidence and team work using NLP
(Neuro-Linguistic Programming) techniques. Workshops range from
half-day taster sessions to extended residencies, regular weekly
sessions or a complete project leading to a performance or procession.
Projects may also be directly related to all key stages of the National
Curriculum or exam syllabus. Art Beat has over 13 years experience
of designing, co-ordinating and delivering projects. All the workshops
are led by experienced professional artists with flexible times
and dates available.
